If you have diabetes, you do not have to stay home for the rest of your life. If the diabetes is well-controlled, and if you plan carefully, follow your physician’s advice, and take a few extra precautions, you can go almost anywhere your heart desires. If the diabetes is difficult to control, however, it would be wise to travel in more developed areas with climate similar to what you are used to, and where you can easily follow your usual food habits and get good medical care.
Whether traveling by car, boat, plane, train or bus, advance planning is very important. You can make a list of what to take on that trip so that last minute rush of packing and living home will not a problem and the travel will go smoothly and healthy.
My mother is diabetic but that doesn’t stop her to travel far places. Travel will be easy for her because she make sure she brings all her medicine and other things to make it more enjoyable. Showing here are picture of my mother in Sagada and Baguio City.
